Hair threads are synthetic absorbable filaments which are Poly Dioxanone. It is a relatively painless lunchtime procedure that can stimulate hair regrowth for six or more months in men and women with androgenetic alopecia. US FDA approved Poly Dioxanone sutures have been used in surgery for decades.

Treatment Procedure

• A topical anesthetic cream is applied all over the target area after the thorough cleansing of that area through spirit and povidone-iodine.
• The filaments/sutures are then inserted in the intradermal plane; they extend from a pre-decided entry point and try to cover the maximum possible length per needle.
• Multiple needles can be inserted at 1 cm spacing in a radial orientation to cover the affected scalp. The total number of needles inserted per scalp is dependent upon the extent of the bald area to be treated, ranging from 20-40.
• During insertion, the scalp skin is stretched, and the needle is inserted through the desired point, ensuring that the needle remains as parallel to the plane of the scalp skin as possible.
